Back to School in Marshall County

It's hard to believe that another Summer break is coming to an end. The first abbreviated day is scheduled for August 5 with the first full day being August 7. I remember when we were kids, we didn't go back to school until September, usually after Labor Day. Trapper Keepers and new Levi's were a must!
However, I don't remember ever having a list of stuff to buy for school, back then. These days, it's a requirement. Since when did sanitizing wipes, Kleenex, and Ziplock bags become school supplies? Oh well, I always try to get everything on the lists, even on the wish list part. I know the teachers need all the help they can get. If you are not sure what is on your child's list, click on the Marshall County Schools link on the right side of the blog page. Is it me, or does it seem like we did without so much when we were kids?
Anyway, we have a tax free weekend coming up, Aug 7 - 9, so get out there and do some shopping! Here is a link to the state site: http://www.tn.gov/revenue/salestaxholiday/
Make sure and check around, you may be able to get a better deal on school supplies at Kroger or Walgreens. Just don't assume that Wal-Mart has the best prices.. you might find better deals elsewhere.
