Got Goat Milk?

Fresh Whole Goat Milk

Are you allergic to cow's milk? If you are, you may want to try goat's milk. Most people, unless they are of Northern European descent, are either lactose intolerant or allergic to cow's milk. Which explains why my husband, who has very strong Dutch genes, can drink milk by the gallons and it never bothers him. I on the other hand, am more of a heinz 57 mixture of German, Scottish, Irish, English, and Native American, and cannot tolerate cow's milk.
The only brand available here, where we live is Meyenberg www.meyenberg.com . It is sold at Wal-Mart in Lewisburg, and I have also bought it from Whole Foods in Franklin. www.wholefoodsmarket.com Although it's a bit pricey for milk, it is very good and worth it to me, as it keeps my gut happy. My husband doesn't like it though. He thinks it's musky or wild tasting....you know like vinison (deer meat) can be, if not properly prepared. He will not drink it with a goat, he will not drink it from a boat!
But, I like it. I think it tastes good. Especially when you start comparing it to soy milk or rice milk.. stuff that someone decided to label as "milk" that has no business as such. Yuk. I like it in my coffee, in my cereal and just by the glass. It's also good when mixed with other stuff...
So anyway, I made up a new drink yesterday.. I am calling it a "White Mexican".
In a tumbler mix the following:
4 to 6 oz Goat Milk
3 to 4 oz Kahlua
crushed ice.. Stir.
GUSTO GRANDE!
